The government is increasing investment into science and research infrastructure and the scientific community has an opportunity to help decide how to spend the money. We know from our 2010 campaign to protect the UK science budget that many people within and without the research community care deeply about scientific research in this country.
Therefore we have helped to set up a live online Q&A about the BIS consultation, on the Guardian science blogs network. The discussion will take place from 12–2 PM on Monday 16 June, and will feature Jenny Rohn and Stephen Curry from Science is Vital, along with David Willetts, the minister for universities and science, and several other experts from the world of research and research policy.
Full details of the consultation can be found on the BIS website, which also hosts the formal consultation document; but supporters may find it easier to register their views in the comments beneath the post hosting the online discussion. Please note that you will be able to make comments before, during and after the live event on 16 June.
Take this opportunity to have your say!
