It’s been three months since our final AGM, and our call for anyone willing take over Science is Vital…but, with no offers to take up the torch, it is with sadness—but also pride in what we’ve achieved—that we’ve concluded it’s time to hang up our protest banners and formally dissolve the organisation.
As set out in our constitution, our financial assets will now be donated to the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE). We’re sure they’ll put them to good use, and we wish them luck making the case for science in the UK.
Thank you to all our supporters over the years, from Exec members who worked evenings and weekends to make things happen, to marchers, postcard-writers and MP-pesterers without whom our campaign wouldn’t have accomplished so much.
This website and associated channels will remain as an archive of the campaign’s activities, and the resources we produced as part of our work.
Please don’t stop fighting for science funding and careers, whatever happens next. We will all continue do do our bit for UK research—just not under the banner of Science is Vital.
With our thanks and looking hopefully forward,
The Science is Vital Team
