Science is Vital and the Campaign for Science and Engineering are taking the campaign directly to Parliament on the 12th of October, from 3:30 – 4:30pm in Committee Room 10. We need you to join us!
The lobby is being co-sponsored by MPs from the three main parties – Conservatives, Labour, and the Lib Dems.
If you can make it, please write to your MP and tell them you’ll be there. It’s their job to listen your concerns and represent you regardless of whether you voted for them, so they’ll be delighted that you’ve taken the time to come and see them.
It’s your democratic right to go to the House of Commons and lobby Parliament, and it’s also a great day out where you get to see the inside of Westminster, so we really hope you can join us.
Everyone is welcome, but it will make our life a lot easier if you register beforehand so we have a good idea of numbers: http://scienceisvitallobby.eventbrite.com/
When registering for the event, please let us know whether your MP has said whether he or she will be attending the lobby – but if they haven’t confirmed yet, you should still register. If you find out after registering, then please let CaSE know.
The meeting will start at 3.30pm but please leave at least 45 minutes for getting through House of Commons security – it can get quite busy.
CaSE has produced a briefing which explains the lobby in more detail: http://www.sciencecampaign.org.uk/documents/2010/CaSELobbyInfo.pdf
If you’ve got any concerns or just want to know a bit more about how it all works, give CaSE a call on 0207 679 4994 or email CaSE at nickh@sciencecampaign.org.uk. Once again, please join us – it’s going to be fun!
